Old Ship Meeting House- Where Generations Meet

Hingham has always loved a meeting, and no place embraces that passion for freedom of assembly more than the Old Ship Meeting House.

But after 330 years of public gatherings this beloved symbol of Hingham is in need of help. Old Ship, the only surviving 17th century Meeting House in existence in America needs vital structural repairs and updates to the electrical and fire protection systems.

This year the Meeting House received a $300,000 Save America’s Treasures grant from the National Park Service and U.S. Department of the Interior. In addition, the Massachusetts Preservation Fund awarded Old Ship a $50,000 grant. But both public grants will be given only if matched by private funds.

The Old Ship Meeting House is recognized as a National Historic Landmark, Hingham is home to this matchless piece of American History. Help us save the past for the future.
