Book Group
The group gathers in participants' homes to discuss shared reading and enjoy one another's company and conversation. All are welcome!

Sharing songs, stories, poems ... and an old-fashioned good time. Bring an instrument if you have one or just bring yourself to listen and maybe sing along. Everyone is welcome.

Crossing Time Poetry Circles
We begin our 15th year! Come join the ongoing poetry renaissance in America - Northeast Branch, Old Ship affiliate! Bring and read or speak a favorite poem - an opportunity to share and perhaps deepen our appreciation of poetry, and reinforce our connection with natural cycles of life. All welcome!

Deacons
The Deacons at Old Ship are a group of five long-time members who have been active in church affairs. Their funds are managed by the Trustees of Invested Funds, and annual distribution from them is available to be used to help with special needs of parishioners as they come to the Deacons through the minister.

Life Works continues this year with several Old Ship members talking about the meanings of their careers and/or volunteer work.

Living by Heart
A group that uses the memorization of poetry as a form of mediation and spiritual practice. Poetry, good company, laughter too - good medicine! This group is currently full, but with enough interest a new group might form.

Men's Breakfast
An ongoing opportunity to get together in a safe, nurturing environment where we can speak freely and listen deeply to each other. We do this as a form of spiritual practice. We also seek to have fun together and rekindle our playful souls.

Old Ship Sangha
All are welcome to this weekly gathering to practice Buddhist mediation in community. Each evening includes sitting and walking meditation, reading and discussion.

Peace and Justice Seminar

Seasonal Bird Walks
Commune with nature, enrich the soul, experience our UU 7th principle of "respect for the interdependent web of existence..." and learn about local birds. All welcome, regardless of experience. Small Group Ministry
Led by trained Old Ship facilitators, each group meets once or twice a month to explore a variety of spiritual, religious, and ethical issues in ways that encourage attentive listening and caring. Groups are ongoing, and newcomers are always welcome.

Way of the Bodhisattva
Half an hour of sitting meditation, followed by an hour conversation based on a Buddhist text. Currently we are reading The Heart of Buddha's Teaching by Thich Nhat Hanh. Newcomers are warmly welcomed - no previous experience with Buddhism needed.

Women's Alliance
Originally an alliance of women's groups from several Hingham parishes, today Old Ship's Alliance raises funds which are contributed to the parish and other organizations for specific - primarily social-projects.
